Hello, my name is Katherine, and I am joining SAT as a KS3 & GCSE Maths tutor. I am a qualified Secondary Maths teacher with over 12 years’ experience teaching, in secondary school in the UK and Qatar.

 

I have over 10 years of tutoring experience both online and in person.  I worked as a maths teacher in mainstream education for 6 years and for the past 6 years I have been working in a specialist provision for students with SEN and mental health needs. I enjoy working with young people and seeing their confidence in their maths ability improve and seeing them reach their potential.  I am also an examiner for GCSE maths with AQA.

 

I have experience of teaching KS3, GCSE, IGCSE, Functional Skills Maths level 1 and Entry Level maths. I always wok to develop and deliver a varied and flexible approach to my lessons, this ensures that each student can access the lesson in a way that best suits their learning style, cognitive ability, and emotional state.  

 

I enjoy getting to know my students interests and hobbies as this helps to build the relationship needed to teach and makes the lesson more fun for both of us.  I will incorporate these interests into the lesson where I can.

In my free time I enjoy doing yoga. And have I two cats.
